Loren T. Nations, DVM, DABVP

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Veterinarian | Metabolic Health Advocate | Visionary for Longevity & Whole-Being Wellness

Because “good enough” was never an option.

The visionary of Neoterric is Dr. Loren Nations, a board certified veterinary practitioner who has spent his career building a veterinary center dedicated to improving the lives of both pets and people. Loren has never been one to accept the status quo. Especially, when it comes to the animals who give us everything. A veterinarian, visionary, and passionate advocate for a new standard in pet health and wellness, Loren has spent his 30+ year career reimagining what it means for pets not just to live longer, but to truly thrive.

For Loren, this mission is deeply personal. His journey into metabolic therapies began a decade ago; not in a laboratory, but in the quiet heartbreak of a loved one’s cancer diagnosis. Desperate for answers beyond the conventional playbook, he discovered the groundbreaking metabolic theory of cancer and found himself learning alongside pioneers in human metabolic research. He became the only veterinarian in rooms filled with bold thinkers like Dr. Thomas Seyfried and Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, brave enough to ask: What if this could change veterinary care too?

And the answer was yes. It could. And it should.

What Loren saw, both in human medicine and in veterinary care, was a broken system. A system where highly processed foods were quietly fueling disease. Where symptoms were managed but root causes ignored. Where corporate influence dictated the conversation, and wellness had been watered down into buzzwords.

He chose another path.

In his clinic, Loren focused on improving core health with good nutrition, natural supplements, and gut microbiome therapies. He began integrating therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, high-dose IV vitamin C, mistletoe, and repurposed drugs to improve standard of care outcomes in his patients. But there are still so many gaps between human and veterinary medicine, and he needed to find a way to effectively bring scientific progress to veterinary medicine. Dr. Nations saw a need to go from the lab to the leash.

That path led to Neoterric, the company Loren co-founded not because the world needed another pet health company, but because it needed a new voice and new standard:

  • A platform for proactive, root-cause wellness.
  • A movement that bridges cutting-edge science with timeless compassion.
  • A pledge to let truth and integrity, not industry, shape the future of veterinary care.

As CEO of Neoterric, Loren is leading a revolution in pet health—one grounded in metabolic science, microbiome balance, and whole-being optimization. His approach merges the best of conventional diagnostics with evidence-based metabolic and integrative therapies, creating truly individualized care that respects both the science and the sacredness of life.

Loren’s philosophy is simple yet transformative:
Pets deserve better.
Better nutrition. Better options. Better futures.
They deserve to thrive, not just survive.

And so, he is here for the long walks, furry cuddles, and brighter tomorrows. For the dogs we’ve loved and the ones still curled at our feet. For pet parents who believe, as he does, that prevention is power, science can be sacred, and care should never come with shortcuts.

This is veterinary care, reimagined.

This is science that loves.

This is Neoterric.

MACK

The Dog Who Taught Me to Be Proactive, Not Reactive

Mack wasn’t just a golden retriever, he was family. From puppyhood on, his presence was woven into daily life: a soft shag carpet underfoot each morning, a steady companion with a wagging tail and patient eyes. He was one of those rare pets who finds their way deep into your heart and settles there. Loyal, gentle, and full of quiet joy, Mack carried a strength that made every day feel complete.

But when cancer struck suddenly at age 11, it changed everything. After just one bad day, Mack was gone. Despite state-of-the-art equipment and years of veterinary training, his illness blindsided us. In those moments of loss came a painful truth: reactive care wasn’t enough. Mack’s story became the spark behind Neoterric—a commitment to be proactive, to search for answers, and to fight for longer, healthier, happier lives for the pets we love.

MOLLY

The Dog Who Healed the Healer

Molly came into my life as a patient, but she became so much more. With her giant ears, wispy tail, and three determined legs, she was a unique, magical little creature. She was free-spirited, I remember her rolling in the yard until we called her our “garbage dog”. But, when the day was done, she would curl up against me like she was made to fit there. Molly wasn’t just my heart dog; she was the healer of the healer, giving back to me what I gave to so many others.

When cancer tried to take her, Molly defied the odds. She lived more than seven years after her diagnosis, hopping beside me during the exact years I was learning and growing in metabolic health and integrative oncology. She grounded me and reminded me what truly matters: the bond we share with our animals. She carried me through to the moment when Neoterric was ready to be born. Molly was my little guardian angel, and when her work was done, she delivered me to the path I was meant to walk.

SIMON

The Gateway Cat

Simon was my first true heart cat, the one who opened a door I didn’t know I needed. I met him as a young veterinarian working in a shelter, surrounded by countless puppies and kittens. But when my eyes met his—this tuxedo boy with giant polydactyl paws—it felt like a bolt of lightning. I told myself I didn’t have the time or space for a pet, but I couldn’t stop thinking about him. By the next morning, I knew he was mine.

Simon became my “gateway cat.” He had the best of both worlds—cat through and through, but with dog-like quirks that made him truly unique. He fetched paper balls, greeted me at the door, and was my steadfast companion for nearly 16 years. Simon changed me from a dog-centric veterinarian into a proud cat dad. I now live with five cats and counting. His bond planted the seed for everything that followed: a reminder that our pets shape us as much as we care for them. Neoterric’s work in feline wellness is, in many ways, an homage to Simon—the little gateway cat who forever changed my heart.
